Rachel & Sanjay
A - Z
Welcome to our wedding A-Z. Hopefully this will answer any little questions and let you know a bit more about the wedding. We are always updating the website but if there are any pressing queries just email us or stick it on the message board.
A is for accommodation. Anyone wanting a room for the night, see the relevent page on the website.
B is for Bollywood. Our reception will definitely be East meets West, so get ready to shimmy to bollywood tracks as well as our more native tunes.
C is for Confetti. You can throw confetti outside the registry office.
D is for Dancing. Everyone is under strict instructions to boogie the night away. We want to see empty chairs when the disco hots up!
E is for Engagement. Wow, we can hardly believe we have been engaged for over a year now! 24th May last year in Rome was the happy event.
F is for Flowers. Our wedding flowers are gerberas.
G is for Guest book. Make sure you don't go without leaving us a message.
H is for honeymoon. As we are getting married in Goa, we will be having a belated honeymoon in early 2008. If you wish to buy us a wedding gift, a donation to our honeymoon fund would be greatly appreciated.
I is for India. Where we had our Hindu wedding on 19th October.
J is for Jerath, the new Mr and Mrs!
K is for Katy, Nazia, Icilda, Lindsay, Sarah and Shannon. Rachel's bridesmaids who will look beautiful in outfits made in India. They had better not look more beautiful than the bride though or there will be trouble.
L is for Lunch. If you fancy Sunday lunch the day after the wedding, please join us at Oscar's on Wilford Lane. Just let us know if you want to come so we can arrange a big table at the restaurant.
M is for Mehndi. Rachel's Mehndi party was on 6th October in Nottingham.
N is for No Smoking. Our reception is strictly no-smoking. Anyone knowing the bride & groom even slightly well will know that they hate smoke anyway and should be used to being told to take their filthy habit elsewhere!
O is for Orange and pink. Our colour scheme for the wedding.
P is for Photographs. If you have digital cameras please take as many photos as possible so we can download them and share them all afterwards on our website. We have bought a memory card reader so we can pinch all your pictures straight after the wedding.
Q is for Quenching your thirst. Please be aware that we are having a cash bar as our budget doesn't stretch to including drinks.
R is for Registry Office. We are getting married in a very small registry office so unfortunately can not squeeze very many of you in, please understand.
S is for Sari. If you would like to wear a sari for the evening reception but are not sure how to put it on, we have enlisted a group of ladies to help dress anyone who needs a hand. The bathrooms at the venue are spacious and there will be a fair few people changing their outfit after dinner, including the bride!
T is for Table plan. The reception will be seated so check the table plan in the bar area to see where your place is.
U is for Umbrella. Good old British weather can't be trusted.
V is for Vegetarians. Dont forget to advise us on your RSVP card.
W is for What to wear. Obviously we want you to dress in your finest, no casual scruffs please! It is up to you whether you want to wear Eastern or Western clothes to the reception, although we ask that you to wear English dress at our wedding ceremony at the registry office.
X is a tricky one. Well X will have to be for kisses, it is a wedding after all.
Y is for You. Our guests are what will make the day even more special for us, so we hope you have a wonderful time.
Z is for Zzzzzzzzz. Feet aching and ties round heads, it is time for bed at 1am.
